I grew up in San Diego, California and worked in the biotechnology industry until joining the United States Air Force in 2001. I retired as a lieutenant colonel with experience, education, and training in military air and space acquisition management and operations.
Raised Catholic in my youth, I experienced many of the traditions of my religion, but years later began to question the point of it all. Did my standing with God and eternal future really come from being faithful to the traditions of my religion or to Christ? Further, by what authority could this religion (or any for that matter) promise eternal life in heaven? This inquisitive nature drove me to want to understand who the God of the Bible is apart from man’s conception of Him through religion.

After my second trip to the Holy Land in 2020, I felt compelled to explain the magnificence and authority of the Bible in our world and our redemption through Christ to those who, like me, have intellectually struggled to understand and appreciate Him. I aim to deliver the message that our greatest achievement in this life is not in our possessions, jobs, or abilities, but in how we relate to God and one another—in other words, how we choose to love and be loved.
